the ūḇənū call
(to build)
Haggai 1:8 8 Now go up into the hills, bring down timber, and rebuild my house. Then I will take pleasure in it and be honored, says the Lord. NLT
1st Chronicles 22:19 19 Now seek the Lord your God with all your heart and soul. Build the sanctuary of the Lord God so that you can bring the Ark of the Lord’s Covenant and the holy vessels of God into the Temple built to honor the Lord’s name.” NLT
The the ūḇənū call is the call for us at Thrive to build Jesus’ church. At Thrive we have given thousands upon thousands away to other church plants, churches and missionaries. And we will continue to do that. However, we have many major projects at this church that we have overlooked for years. We have the blessings of having two physical properties that we own but the downside of this blessing is that they are need of repairs, maintenance and upgrades. Over the next few years we will be asking our Thrivers to help us repair and upgrade our places of worship. This is not an offering, but it is a call. It is a call for us to care for the house of God. It is a call for us to sacrifice so these buildings can be used for ministry for generations to come. One day, someone will thank us or regret us being in these facilities. God has gifted us these facilities and it is our job to steward them. God’s gift to us are these facilities. Our gift back to God is how we take care of them. Our goal is to never go in debt to repair the church that God has given us.
Our Chesterfield Campus was originally the “Iron Bridge Tennis Courts,” and it was constructed in the 70’s. Over the years we have slowly renovated this campus and the houses. Most of what you see today was not here when I (Kevin) replanted the church as a new church. We did this over years. The building was in bad shape. During the COVID shutdown we installed our complete broadcast and current lighting, repaved our parking lot as well as built out the children’s village area. In 2023 we added toilets to the men’s and women’s bathrooms due to our growth. We did this without going into debt. We are in need of roof repairs, update of flooring in sanctuary, finish painting in children’s areas, drainage to stop flooding during flash flood rains, repair/replace outside storage, sound system updates, broadcast needs, maintenance on house properties on campus, parking and other various items.
Our Richmond Campus was originally built in the 1950’s. Over the years we have managed to update two bathrooms, renovate the sanctuary with new carpet, chairs, lighting and sound system. We also updated our children’s area spaces and resealed the parking lot. This was all done without going into any debt as well. The Richmond campus is need of roofing repairs, painting and upgrades to different media/sound system.
As previously stated, the goal is to repair and upgrade our facilities without going into any debt. We want this facility to be in the best shape available to house many generations to come for worship.
If you enjoy Thrive and these facilities have been a vessel for you and your family to be ministered to, please answer the call. We have something way better than the Jewish Temple of Haggai and Nehemiah’s day. We have a building where the Gospel can go forth and change lives. Let’s continue to see lives changed here at Thrive!
